Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), health services such as psychology practices are required to maintain a privacy policy compliant with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) which details how the service collects handles and discloses sensitive personal information. This policy includes terms relating to:

- Client Conversation recordings; and,
- Retention and use of sensitive personal information.
