Kim Billington has worked with families for over 30yrs in the fields of family violence, family separation, men’s behaviour change programs, bereavement, MensLine and crisis telephone counselling and has a private practice in Melbourne.
Kim has a Masters in Narrative Therapy, M. Couns & B. Ed Kim’s theoretical special areas include Narrative Therapy and Somatic psychotherapy. Kim is a registered PACFA clinical supervisor, and has
been supervising Monash Masters of Counselling students on their placements for 9 years.
Kim uses Mindfulness and creative expressive arts work with approaches including: The Hero’s Journey, Tree of Life and Sailboat of Life. Kim has been a trainer and presenter with the Sydney Centre for Creative Change for 9 years. Kim wrote her first book which became an Amazon Bestseller, A Counsellor’s Companion: Creative adventures for child counsellors, parents and teachers, as a way to pass forward her knowledges and learnings about ways to support children. Kim’s passion is to support people who work and live with children and young people, to hear the voice of the child. Her second book, Counselling Conversations includes a series of interviews with seasoned experts in a variety of clinical roles.
